Another West Texas data-center project has put workforce support under contract

Target Hospitality's contract makes workforce accommodation and services a defined delivery layer around another West Texas data-center project.

TODAY'S SIGNAL

Target Hospitality says it signed a multi-year lease and services agreement for a top-five hyperscaler’s data-center development in the Pecos region. The company plans to modify underused assets to support about 1,100 individuals, with initial occupancy in the third quarter of 2026. It expects roughly $250 million of revenue through August 2030 and less than $15 million of capital investment for the modifications.

The construction signal is not that $250 million is construction backlog, nor that all 1,100 people are construction workers. It is that workforce accommodation and services are being contracted as a defined delivery layer around another West Texas data-center project. The Dallas Fed separately reports that Texas data-center construction has intensified competition for skilled concrete workers and electricians, including higher pay and per-diem pressure in survey contacts.

For contractors, the useful question is whether lodging, travel, per diem, and local-service capacity are explicit assumptions in bids and workforce plans. The company announcement is forward-looking; the customer and exact project are unnamed, and occupancy timing remains a forecast.
